Rear windscreen
Rear windscreen replacement
A smashed back window lets in rain and leaves the car insecure. We clear the broken glass and fit a new rear windscreen at your home or work.
The short answer
Rear windscreens are usually toughened glass that shatters completely, so they're always replaced, not repaired. We vacuum out the broken glass, fit the new screen and reconnect the demister, antenna and any wiper or brake-light wiring.

Frequently asked questions
Will my rear demister work after replacement?
Yes. Replacement rear screens have the heating element built in and we reconnect it.
Can I drive with a smashed rear window?
It's best not to — loose glass can fall, and the car isn't secure. Cover the opening and call us.
Can I claim my windscreen on insurance?
Many comprehensive policies include glass cover, sometimes with a reduced or waived excess. Check with your insurer first, then let us know your insurer and claim number when you book. See our insurance guide.
