Side & rear windows
Side and rear window replacement after a break-in or accident
Side and rear windows are made of toughened glass that shatters into small pieces, so they can't be repaired — they're replaced. We come to you, clear the broken glass from the cabin and door, and fit a new window on site.
The short answer
Side and rear car windows are usually toughened glass, which shatters completely, so they're replaced rather than repaired. We come to the vehicle, vacuum the broken glass out of the cabin and door, fit the new window and reconnect demisters or antennas. Most side or rear windows take about one to two hours on site.

Had a break-in? Do this first
- Photograph the damage for your insurer.
- Report the break-in to police and note the reference number.
- Cover the opening with plastic and tape to keep rain out.
- Avoid driving with loose glass in the door or on the seats.
- Call 0498 700 798 and we'll come to the vehicle.
What we do on site
We vacuum the shattered glass from the seats, floor and door cavity, check the regulator and runners, then fit and test the new door glass. For rear screens we reconnect the demister and any antenna connections and check the seal.

Frequently asked questions
Can a broken side window be repaired?
No. Side and rear windows are usually toughened glass, which breaks into small fragments, so the only fix is a replacement.
Will my rear demister work after replacement?
Yes. Replacement rear screens come with the heating element built in, and we reconnect it during the fit.
Can I claim my windscreen on insurance?
Many comprehensive policies include glass cover, sometimes with a reduced or waived excess. Check with your insurer first, then let us know your insurer and claim number when you book so the paperwork lines up.
Do you really come to me?
Yes. Every job is mobile. We work at homes, workplaces, depots, car parks and worksites across South East Queensland, so you don't need to drive a damaged vehicle anywhere.
